Meet the Principal: Kerri Schmitt of Holly Springs ES STEM Academy

Our Principals can’t wait to welcome our students to learn more, grow more, and achieve more in our classrooms!  As we count down to the first day of school, we’re introducing you to our schools’ new principals.

The new principal for Holly Springs ES STEM Academy brings experience leading all grade levels to her new role.

Principal Kerri Schmitt, a 23-year educator, served in CCSD as an award-winning teacher and regionally honored soccer coach at Creekview High School before beginning her career in school leadership.  She led as an assistant principal at Knox ES STEM Academy and most recently in the same role at Etowah High School.

What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

I am excited to build relationships with students, staff, and families with a positive school culture where everyone feels supported and inspired to grow.  I look forward to celebrating student success and becoming an active part of this amazing community.

What inspired you to become an educator?

I became an educator because I believe that the power of learning can change lives.  I was inspired by educators who made a difference, and I want the opportunity to continue that impact on others.

How can parents be more involved with your school?

Parents are important partners in student success.  Families can stay involved by attending school events, volunteering, joining PTA, communicating with teachers, and staying engaged in their child’s learning.  Together, we can create the best possible experience for every student to learn, grow, and achieve.
